JORDAN VALLEY -- They were spotted from a small airplane, two cattle rustlers on horseback hazing 125 white-faced cows across Malheur County's forbidding "empty quarter" in Oregon's far southeast corner.

Who's leading the conversation?
This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Unsupervised cattle on BLM land? hmmm.

If they are so worried about how expensive these cattle are, why not put in one of those micro-chips they use on pets and horses?

Otherwise, keep some herders with them, especially since the cows left unchecked, ravage waterholes, etc. Should be required to use BLM land, etc.

In Western Oregon we have cows the size of Schnauzers, but they're cattle...

It is funny how people that have no idea what they are talking about always like to run there mouth about which they have never been around and will never be around.

Rene Odeay has probably never left the parking lot of the Starbuck let alone has any idea what is going on in the remote area of southeastern Oregon.

If you want to have some so called "Herder" to watch over all the cattle in oregon be prepared to pay for it when you go to the store to buy meat and when you go to Mc Donalds.

It makes me angry that someone can sit back at there computer and ramble off "crap" when the ranchers are losing money from cattle thiefs.

O and by the way I have been there!!!
