Ex-Iraq commander General Sanchez accuses Bush Administration of 'gross incompetence'

advertisement

In a new memoir set to be published May 6, the former commander of US forces in Iraq provides new intimate details of the goings-on at high levels of the Bush Administration in the first year of the Iraq war.

His sharp tongued conclusion: "Hundreds of billions of taxpayer dollars were unnecessarily spent, and worse yet, too many of our most precious military resource, our American soldiers, were unnecessarily wounded, maimed, and killed as a result. In my mind, this action by the Bush administration amounts to gross incompetence and dereliction of duty."

This visualization below allows you to see the impact that each user has on the current conversation. The top row contains the group of users who have had the most impact, the 2nd row the group of users who have had the 2nd most impact (et cetera). Users with similar impact are grouped together, and the average score of the group is shown to the left of the group. The author of the article is also shown on the left, in their corresponding group. Each user's score is based on the number of comments the user has made plus the number of votes their comments have received. The scores are calculated relative one another, so while their absolute value is not particularly important, their relative difference does indicate a larger difference in impact on the conversation.

Tenet, Bremer, ex American commanders and numerous Bush toadies and politicians all pointing the finger at each other in the hopes of escaping blame for the tragedy that is unfolding in Iraq.

An al-jazeera full documentry TV report ''The day of Baghdad fall'' raked in shocky memories to our hindsight

It shows how America didn,t have any plan for Iraq after dropping tons of bombs and after Bremer has insisted to dismantle all Iraqi forces living the whole country uncontrolled by any kind of law or force - even the US troops was not in charge , just watching the uprise of the worest chaos and looting and and vandalism in history

Millions of unemployeed Iraqis were strutting the streets waiting for being re-called for duty.

Bremer said that he witnessed the first spark of violence and insurgency when he was in his way to Baghdad airport when his car was attacked by rockets and his aids and driver were killed.

Then he heared about someone called alSadr soliciting with big success ''the after Saddam Iraqis'' to join his religious movement !!
Just like that. US experts in this report said that they didn,t believe that Bremer dismantled the Iraqi forces , they though him crazy or manipulating

How much cheaper it would have been to hire the entire Iraqi army lock stock and barrel. Set up a public works program immediately and put Iraqis to work rebuilding their country. Instead, following the mantra of conservative neo-con Republicans Bush and company decided to allow private enterprise (meaning cronies) no bid contracts, importing many thousands of workers from around the world to do jobs that Iraqis desperately needed and applied massive military force to anybody that opposed this heavy handed occupation. Well how has that worked out so far? When corporations control government the only term that really describes it well is fascism. We had selected for us a fascist president. i know that is hard for many people to grasp or accept but that is indeed the case. We need to roll back corporatism in this country.

It would be cheaper and safer to hire the well trained Iraqi forces to be a part of the new status quo , instead of leaving them and their weapons to be recruited and used by violent groups

But the hubris and the ignorance of the president made him thinking that he can ignore millions of soldiers and officials of Saddam,s regime.

Foreign contractors and mercinaries do not run countries , they are fueling hatred by shooting at people and not defending them ,, but it,s true that this war was 'stupidly' serving beneficiary corporations
